The Cable Matters USB-C KVM Switch Dock lets two devices share a single keyboard and mouse, charger, peripherals, and two ultra high definition displays over a single USB-C connection. It combines the performance of a USB-C dock, which offers a one-cable connectivity solution, with the flexibility of a USB-C switch, which shares peripherals between multiple devices.
The KVM Switch Dock will revolutionize the work from home experience, which is plagued by two common connectivity challenges. Many business-class laptops lack essential display or peripheral ports. Remote workers sharing a workspace with their business and personal devices struggle for space or constantly hot swap work and personal laptops between shared USB peripherals and monitors.
Cable Matters’ KVM Switch Dock solves both of these problems. The dock instantly adds ultra high definition DisplayPort™ and HDMI video ports, a 3.5mm audio port, six USB-A ports, one USB-C port, and SD/MicroSD card slots to up to two USB-C devices. The Cable Matters Thunderbolt™ 4 Cable – 6.6 Feet combines the latest in Thunderbolt technology with a repeater chipset to push the length limits of the latest Thunderbolt standard. Existing passive cables lack protection from signal degradation at longer distances and typically max out at around 0.8 meters/2.6 feet. Cable Matters’ cable uses a repeater chipset to boost the signal, preventing signal degradation and overcoming the cable length limit. The Cable Matters USB-C Video Adapter extends USB-C’s versatility to drive the latest 8K and 4K 120Hz displays.
The adapter fills a growing demand for high resolution, high refresh rate video over USB-C. While there are many adapters on the market, few of them support blazing-fast 4K 120Hz displays or ultra high resolution 8K displays as specified in HDMI 2.1. Most existing adapters lack support for more advanced features.
Cable Matters’ new adapter supports 8K video as specified in HDMI 2.1. The adapter offers more than 2.5x the bandwidth of older models – enough to drive 8K displays at 30Hz and 4K displays at up to 120Hz without any loss in picture quality – all though the versatile USB-C connector commonly found on laptops, smartphones, tablets, and desktop computers.

The Cable Matters USB 3.1 to 4-port Gigabit Ethernet Adapter and the Cable Matters USB-C® to 4-port Gigabit Ethernet Adapter are full-featured USB to Ethernet adapters. Both products provide Ethernet networking to a host laptop, computer, or game console that lacks a built-in Ethernet port.
What separates these adapters from typical USB to Ethernet adapters is the addition of three extra Ethernet ports. Three additional devices can connect to the adapter via Ethernet, allowing up to four devices to share a single wired Ethernet connection to a router or wall jack. Cable Matters®, an industry-leading supplier of connectivity solutions, today launched a new all-in-one Thunderbolt™ 3 and USB-C® docking station, solving a costly compatibility problem in the docking station market. The new Cable Matters Thunderbolt 3 Docking Station with Dual 4K DisplayPort™ & 60W Power Delivery takes advantage of a dedicated chipset to seamlessly switch between full Thunderbolt 3 mode and USB-C mode depending on the capability of the host device.
Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C share the same plug form factor but are very different technologies. Thunderbolt 3 boasts 40Gbps of high-speed bandwidth — up to four times as much bandwidth as USB-C only. Until now, Thunderbolt 3 docking stations were only compatible with laptops with Thunderbolt 3. Consumers searching for an all-in-one solution for multiple devices either compromised with a slower device or purchased two docking stations.
Taking advantage of the Intel Titan Ridge chipset, the docking station detects if the connected host supports Thunderbolt 3 or USB-C only, and automatically switches its operation mode to accommodate either connection. This solution allows consumers to use the docking station with a high-performance laptop with Thunderbolt 3 ports, and their USB-C devices.
The docking station features two DisplayPort ports for connecting external monitors, two USB-C ports for connecting smartphones and USB-C devices, three USB-A ports for connecting flash drives, mice, and other peripherals, a 3.5mm audio jack for connecting headphones or a headset, and a Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 port for 1Gbps wired network access. One USB-A and the two USB-C ports support speeds of up to 10Gbps, while previous Thunderbolt 3 docking stations were limited to 5Gbps USB ports. The host USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 connector features Power Delivery support, which can charge the host device with up to 60W of power.
